Reed Kirkpatrick
Editor
reed@fit2print.ca
A member of the Editors' Association of Canada, Reed has provided the highest quality environmental research, writing and editing services to a variety of clients including the BC Government, Envirotechneering, Environment Canada, the James Bay Beacon, African Community Project, and Cool Aid Society. He is also the editor of two recently released First Choice Books publications: Sudden Cold and The Long Way Home.
Sudden Cold is an investigation into an intriguing climate interval that occurred after the most recent ice age. The climate, which had been warming dramatically, suddenly cooled to an interval of near-glacial cold. Known as the Younger Dryas, this period lasted for well over 1,000 years. The most widely held theory favours that the Younger Dryas was caused by the slowing or cessation of the North Atlantic ocean circulation. However, it is becoming evident that this hypothesis fails to explain many features of the Younger Dryas. Climatologist and author Rod Chilton examines the many shortcomings of the ocean circulation hypothesis, and in its place presents an exciting alternative explanation. For this project, Reed provided substantive editing, indexing, fact checking, and supporting research.
Most recently, Reed was responsible for editing, book layout, cover design, and scanning for The Long Way Home, author Les MacNeill's second book describing his gripping sailing adventure from Victoria BC, to New Zealand."
He is also the author of numerous climate change research papers for Environment Canada, co-author of a research paper published by the Canadian Journal of Earth Sciences, and many blogs, fact sheets, proposals, and short articles.

Roxane Christ

Editor
roxanec@telus.net
Roxane began writing when she was fourteen years old. She wrote sonnets and accounts of her adventures in West Africa where she grew up. Her favorite author then, was Molière. She wrote a critique of his work, “Tartuffe”, at the age of eighteen, which earned her an award in French Literature. Encouraged by her father to pursue a financially rewarding career, Roxane entered the oil and mining industries in 1970. However, she never abandoned her writing – she wrote a couple of novels in 2006-2007. In 1982, she moved to Australia where she began editing and writing in earnest in 1984. She was appointed Director of Offshore Engineering Program at Monash University in 1989. While heading this program successfully for several years, Roxane edited numerous technical works and authored a couple of primers for the industry. Roxane returned home to Vancouver, Canada in 1994 and while fighting cancer, she retired in 2000. Now comfortably ensconced in her apartment, overlooking English Bay, Roxane devotes her time to writing, translating and editing the works of authors from across the world.
