What is the self publisher criteria for choosing a trustworthy book publishing company?
- website presence and ease of finding relevant info
- does company offer the type of services you need
- are they reputable and trustworthy(check references)
- do they have hidden or up-front fees and for what services
- do I buy my own book at their selling price after a huge up front fee
- is the package deals worth the expense of getting only a few books along with promises of sales
- can they produce hard cover books or different sizes for my specific application and market
- after submitting my files,how long before I receive books from them especially if it is time sensitive
- what is the fine print on file changes
- can I set my own price for my book
- how many books do they anticipate selling with listings on virtual bookstores
These are only some questions an Author may ask their selected publisher.The answers will vary from one publisher to the next and thus the final decision will be based on budget and type of book published.A book on Family history will not sell well on Amazon,no matter what they tell you.So why pay the extra for a listing with Amazon.
